Having mentioned Saint Claude, here are some Geoff Churchman pics showing the station area, and one showing monuments to the town's main claims to fame - smoking pipes and diamonds.

From here to Morez (see earlier post) is a worthwhile scenic trip, in fact even further in both directions.  South of Saint-Claude, however, there are not many trains.
