Bakewell in Perth, Western Australia

It may sound like the name of a cookbook, but it is the name of this former Western Australian Government Railways S class 4-8-2, now mounted at the long distance Perth Terminal, road number S 542.   The class numbered 10 units, built 1943-1945 at the WAGR Midland Workshops and used on the WAGR 3'6" gauge system. They were intended for service on both passenger and goods services on the Eastern Goldfields Railway between Perth and Kalgoorlie, although after WW2 they worked primarily on the South West mainline.
